Hadnt had a placement at Devon Blackdown Hills comp since 2013

18months -2 years a great deal of work by Toby culminated in these pictures. These portraits were part of his entries to the Royal Portrait Gallery annual show to be hung in The Mall Gallery with the icing on the cake for Toby, winning The Ondaatje Prize for Portraiture.

Dorset Hedgelayer went on a little tour with @mandy.woodham.1 & Roger P. I was honoured to be asked to judge at the All Ireland Hedgelaying Championships. Amazing hospitality, great company and good to catch up with some old friends, Thanks go to @millbankfarm @hedgerowsireland @clivelyttle @mcmarkdowell ,Shane Downing Adrian Fitzpatrick. @steve_bass_hedgelayer & @robbie762021 . Many thanks to my fellow judges and thank you @hedgerowsireland for having us.

Couple of weeks ago I was privileged to be one of the tutors assisting young up and coming hedgelayers. The “Patrons Event” run every few years is to encourage young hedgelayers into the craft and is run in conjunction with the National Hedgelaying Society and our Patron His Majesty the King. Ive been fortunate enough to meet Prince Charles as The Prince of Wales a few times through the Patrons Event also hedging for the Duchy but this was a first as King Charles 3rd
